Why Poppies? Because we believe that shopping for groceries shouldn't be just a chore, but a time to try new things and enjoy yourself. And that food should always be fresh – wholesome, natural and the best available... that locally produced means less miles to your table and supports our neighbors in Brevard, Hendersonville and western NC... that taste is everything – whether it’s the sun in our heirloom vegetables, the flavor and texture of our artisanal cheeses, or the unique character of our microbrewed beers...
Healthy living comes from many sources – food, lifestyle and what we take to promote good health. Every day should be a celebration of life, full of good food and drink, and surrounded by beauty... that we have only one planet earth and supporting friendly farming practices, recycling and doing anything that protects our environment are the only ways to sustain our precious agricultural system.
We call these our “passions” and that’s really what we’re all about.

Join us for Dinner and Music in the Garden throughout the summer. We had so many request to repeat our Birthday's Burgers, Brats, Brews and Blues, that we decided to put together a schedule of music on Friday or Saturday nights. Here's what we've firmed up so far: (Music starts at 6pm and all events are weather permitting. Some nights, the Grill & Deli will be kept open until 8:30) Some events may have a small cover charge and others we will pass the hat in order to pay these talented musicians. Check most of these groups our on myspace.com if you'd like a preview of what to expect.
Friday, June 19th - The Moonshine Babies
Saturday, June 27th - Burgers, Brats, Brews and Blues returns with the Dangerous Gentlemens
Wednesday, July 1st - Brother, Brother and Nash Roberts. Both of these talented singer/songwriters played at this year's White Squirrel Festival
Saturday, July 11th - Nikki Talley. You may remember Brevardresident Nikki won the WLOS talent show a couple years back and has really been making a name for herself.
Saturday, July 18th - Burgers, Brats, Brews and Blues with the Dangerous Gentlemens

Saturday, August 8th - Peggy Ratusz & Daddy Longlegs. Described as a'sultry jazz/blues diva', Peggy has played at Bele Chere and most recently at an Orange Peel gig.

As the summer approaches, we know lots of you have your season tickets for the Brevard Music Center. This year, Poppies is very proud to be working with them providing Picnics, Presto! You can order several different picnic boxes online, or pick one up once you get out the the Music Center.
Check out our Hot Grill Menu. Choices include house ground beef burgers, marinated FreeBird Chicken Sandwiches, a Brat with the works, Fish Tacos, a Veggie Burger, a grilled Pimento Cheese & bacon sandwich and salads with grilled salmon or chicken. We've just added local burgers from Busy Bee Farms here in Transylvania County and Carolina Bison Burger. Don't miss our house made french fries (we often here they are the best in all of Brevard and beyond).
Poppies is a great place for DINNER!! We serve our lunch menu everyday for dinner. Feel free to open a beer or a bottle of wine and relax with your meal in the beautiful garden, the deli cafe or the tables upstairs. Check out the Grab & Go meals next to the prepared foods case when you need a great home cooked meal but don't have the time or energy to do it yourself.

Each Tuesday - Poppies celebrates our Seniors. Come shop with us and get a 5% discount.
